What does HighLevel say connects it to WhatsApp?

The HighLevel help pages we read name no outside company behind the connection; other providers are named only as places to migrate from. They describe one route, Meta’s Embedded Signup: you connect with Facebook, log in with your Meta business credentials and approve what HighLevel may access. Its help center calls the CRM’s tools “powered by the WhatsApp Cloud API”, and its WhatsApp page calls the integration native.

One step in HighLevel’s guide reads “Connect to LeadConnector”, so you may see that name on screen. The WhatsApp account stays yours: Meta says businesses onboarded through Embedded Signup own their WhatsApp assets and keep full access to WhatsApp Manager.

Which setup path fits your number?

HighLevel’s setup guide offers three. The right one depends on where the number lives today.

UAE numbers are not excluded: HighLevel’s coexistence page names only Nigeria and South Africa as unsupported.

What does Meta need from a UAE business before you start?

Meta checks that the business is real and the name is honest. Have these ready:

  • A Meta business portfolio where you, the owner, have full control. Only full control can start verification.
  • Details matching your legal entity: name, address, phone and a website that loads over HTTPS. In the UAE, your trade licence is where the name and address are written.
  • Your trade licence as a file. If Meta finds no matching record, it may ask for official documents, such as a business licence.
  • A number you own that can receive an SMS or voice call. Meta recommends a mobile; a landline works for the voice code if its phone menu passes the call to a person.
  • A display name that is only your business name: no offers, no “Official” or “Verified”, no generic words like “Fashion”, no web address, and a match with your website.
  • Opt-in records. Meta allows messages only to people who opted in.
  • A chat backup, if the app account will be deleted.

What are the setup steps, in order?

Verification runs on Meta’s clock, so it goes first.

How many customers can you message on day one?

A new business portfolio starts at 250 unique customers per rolling 24 hours, counting only messages outside the service window. Meta lists three routes to 2,000: verify the business, have the provider that onboarded you verify it, or deliver 2,000 template messages to unique customers in 30 days at high quality.

Take a clinic sending one offer to 700 past patients. At 250 a day, 700 ÷ 250 = 2.8, so it takes 3 days; at 2,000 it goes in one. What those 700 messages cost is worked out in our WhatsApp API pricing article.

How do templates and the 24-hour window work in HighLevel?

A customer’s message opens a 24-hour window, and each new message from them resets it. Inside it you can reply in free text; outside it, only an approved template can go out. In a HighLevel workflow, the “Customer Service Window Check” tests this: the open branch sends free text, the closed branch a template.

Clinic, SharjahExample chat · made up
  1. Clinic, template message: Hi Sara, a reminder: your appointment is tomorrow at 4:00 pm. Reply 1 to confirm or 2 to move it.
  2. Patient: 2, can we do Thursday?
  3. Clinic: Thursday at 4:00 pm works. Moved!
  4. HighLevel: her reply opened a 24-hour window, so free text is allowed until 24 hours after her last message.
An example chat, made up: the template goes first, her reply opens the window.

Each template needs three decisions. Language: Meta does not translate, so you submit one version per language; Arabic (UAE) and English (UAE) are both on its list. Category: marketing, utility or authentication, which also sets the price. Wording: Meta commonly rejects duplicates, a variable at the start or end, and requests for sensitive IDs. HighLevel’s builder catches formatting errors before saving but cannot promise approval.

What do HighLevel and Meta each charge for WhatsApp?

Three meters run side by side:

  • Meta charges per delivered message, by category and the customer’s country code; the first 1,000 service messages per number each month are free. Our pricing article has the AED rates and a worked month.
  • HighLevel charges US$10 a month per sub-account with WhatsApp enabled, billed to the agency, plus message usage on a US-dollar rate card. Agencies that resell can set a multiplier; the default is 1.05x. Its table still shows the UAE marketing rate from before 1 October 2026, so take current UAE rates from Meta’s AED card.
  • Webly’s fee is a custom quote, paid monthly on a 3, 6 or 12-month plan; the longer the plan, the lower the monthly price. The quote also says how the other two are billed.

What usually goes wrong when you connect?

  • “A payment method already exists.” The WhatsApp account you chose already has billing elsewhere, and Meta will not connect it again. Create a new WhatsApp account in the same portfolio; that does not always need a new number.
  • “Number is registered to an existing WhatsApp account.” Delete that account in the app or use coexistence, then wait about 3 minutes. A number last used with another provider may need several weeks.
  • “More activity on the WhatsApp Business App is needed.” On coexistence, WhatsApp wants real use of the app first; HighLevel suggests daily messaging for a month. A fresh number belongs on the new-number path.
  • Display name declined. Check it against the rules above, edit and resubmit.
  • “This WABA is already onboarded at this Location ID.” Disconnect it from the other HighLevel location first.

The official number is covered on our WhatsApp Business API page, the follow-up on the WhatsApp CRM page, and the replies on the AI sales agent page.
